But it should definitely be included in the next full point upgrade.

What, you may ask?

Why, something that should have, in my humble opinion, been part of the core since day one.

And that is, the ability to set the sort order of each category.

There are many times when the default descending sort order for posts is not appropriate. Examples are tutorials, personal journals, novels and the like.

Yes, plugins and hacks abound, but that is not the point. This is a function that should be so innate to the platform.

So please, WordPress gurus, may we have this built-in for the next go-round?
