About 2 niner niner 2

Written by 2ninerniner2

A few of you may recognize me, or more specifically my user name, from the Joomla! Forum. I was a rather late-comer to the CMS arena and Joomla! in particular. But my experience in matters of the web goes way back to it's inception, cutting my teeth, as it were, on (dare I say it here) Microsoft FrontPage. As the ubiquitous ad goes, you've come a long way!

Having progressed through the ranks up to and including Dreamweaver (whose last effort can be viewed on the C-FWZZ menu item), I am now fully entrenched with Joomla! for my own and my clients web sites. Although I have a U.S. Patent on a software process, and was at one time quite proficient with Borland's (at the time) Delphi, I am by no means a programmer; more of a constructor, facilitator, "know how to use it" sort of person.

Some may be wondering on my choice of name, 2ninerniner2, not only here, but on the Jooma Forum, Joomalworks Community and numerous other spots on-line. This has it's roots based in the fact that I have been directly involved with aviation since 08 August 1970 when I went for my first flying lesson. Almost 39 years later, after having obtained a Commercial Multi-engine Instrument Rating, an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence -  M1 & M2-  and having retired from Time Air / Canadian Regional Airlines / Air Canada as a Senior Aircraft Structures Inspector, I now fulfill my days building Joomla!-powered web sites for my clients as well as helping out on the Joomla! Forum.

Have a look on the Wiki for what is 2 niner niner 2 and why it is "niner".

Check the C-FWZZ menu item to have a look at my 'ride' for the better part of my aviation career as well as the last HTML / CSS web site that I made prior to finding Joomla!

On another note. Some may also recognize this site as a reincarnation of a previous one that I had listed in the signature of my Joomla! Forum posts. After having gone through some of the "hoops" involved with using a "brand name" in my URL as well as site name, I decided it was a whole lot easier just to re-brand the site and avoid all this extraneous effort; that's what I do best.

Bonjour,

This is me, at my "office" -  the terrace of the Java U café on the corner of rue Guy and de Maisonneuve in beautiful downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Cheers!

Lyle

Custom HTML

This is an instance of the Joomla! Custom HTML Module; one of my favourites. Easy enough to implement too.

Here is all that is required:

  • Extensions > Module Manager > New
  • Click on 'Custom HTML'
  • Set the parameters as required
  • Add your content; text, images, video ... you name it!
